Currently, I am sitting at a Reggae bar in an Island in Malaysia called langkawi. I am sitting here, not only with my beloved iphone as company, but also with a new travelling group! Let me introduce you to…
The two Dutchies:
This post, however, is not about Langkawi (more about that in the next post) but about Tonsai – an amazing, hidden hippy cove by Krabi in Thailand.
Railey beach, on my way to Tonsai.
Thankfully (and if you have read the beginning of this post, obviously) I was wrong.
I did a few climbing courses which was great fun. My favourite was an activity called ‘deep water solo-ing’. Basically, a boat takes you to an island and you climb rocks that are hanging over the ocean. So if you think you are about to fall? Just jump straight in to the ocean – no ropes needed. The second climbing day was a regular top rope climb.
The rest of the time I just relaxed, talked to the locals as well as the other people who had found their way to Tonsai, and enjoyed life without wifi or real world problems.
My bungalow was shite, though.
My yummy bathroom. Cockroaches frequent here.
I have learned so much Thai now, talking to the locals and the other people who have been in Thailand for longer really help. It feels weird being in Malaysia now, I only know one word: tramakazee (yes, pseudo kamikaze) which means thank you.
Fashion wise, I have bought hippy pants and printed tops. What I am saying is that no-one gives a shite. It is kind of refreshing. The times I do dress up and put on some make up or a well-fitting dress, I find that you just get too much attention and I do not feel comfortable.
..but so rewarding
Anyhow, tonsai was a great and well needed break. Look out for my next post about Malaysia! It should be up tomorrow
